Eyelid Lift Surgery
Eyelid Lift Surgery
In reality, the aging process is not the sole cause of eyelid wrinkles or sagging. Eyelid wrinkles can also affect vision.
What is Eyelid Lift Surgery (Blepharoplasty): This procedure is typically performed on both the upper and lower eyelids and is not limited to cosmetic purposes; it can also be done for medical reasons. The goal of this procedure is to eliminate puffiness around the eye area or eyelid sagging. However, it’s important to note that this procedure does not address dark circles or forehead wrinkles.
Types of Eyelid Lift Surgery:
- Upper Eyelid Lift
- Lower Eyelid Lift
Non-Surgical Eyelid Lift Options:
- Filler Injections
- Thread Lift
- Laser Treatment
- Eyelid Cosmetic Surgery
Steps of Surgical Eyelid Lift:
- Anesthesia: The patient is typically anesthetized either with general anesthesia or local anesthesia with a sedative, as per the surgeon’s recommendation.
- Incision: The surgeon makes an incision that follows the natural lines of the eyelid. The incision is usually just a few millimeters long.
- Removal of Excess Tissue: After the skin is separated, the surgeon removes excess skin and fat from the area.
- Closure: The surgical incision is closed with small sutures, typically ranging from 3 to 6 sutures at most for upper eyelid lifts.
